Roles and Responsibilities

Chairperson

Chair meetings and take the role of bank signatory.

Chairperson Committee

The chairperson commitee will rotate the chair of each quarterly parent council meeting, including the AGM.  They will also serve as a liaison between the Parent Council and the Head teacher and agree the agenda for meetings.

Class Reps

The role of the class rep was established to enable parents to become more involved in their childs learning.  The class rep serves as a point of contact between the teacher and parents.  By engaging with the teacher about class work and topics and feeding that back to the parent body it is hoped that parents with skills which could benefit class learning would be able to bring those to the class.  Class reps will also seek parental feedback/input on Parent Council issues, initiatives or concerns and inform parents about key Parent Council activities/decisions.

In addition class reps will also:

* Advise parents on best point of contact for issues not covered by Class Rep role (individual issues with school etc., should be directed to school).

* Work with class teacher(s) to provide class updates, raise requirements (funding for trips etc.) or key concerns to Parent Council

* Purchase (and receipt) goods to be paid for by Parent Council for their class

* Contribute to Parent Council quarterly meetings

* Options to volunteer to coordinate/assist with Parent Council activities (Discos, Fairs etc.)

Health and Eco Rep

The Health and Eco Rep is responsible for coordinating the Healthy Tuckshop parent rota.  The rep will also liaise with the schools Health and Eco Committe in order to coordinate parental involvement in Health and Eco events.
